    El objeto de este estudio será el de documentar la presencia simbológica de la Virgen María, bajo distintas soluciones iconográficas, en los blasones delos obispos de Jaén, desde el siglo XIII hasta la actualidad, realizando una descripción heráldica, para poder interpretar las piezas, figuras o muebles heráldicos, que improntarán los escudos de una buena parte de los prelados, donde descubriremos la presencia mariana, ya de forma parlante, en base a una representación al natural de la Virgen; con el propio escudo de la Virgen María, u otros símbolos marianos asociados a su figura, aparte de otras piezas, que en principio, no tendrían ninguna conexión mariológica, pero que a raíz del conocimiento de la particular biografía de los distintos obispos, hemos podido desvelar.

    The aim of this study will be to document the symbolic presence of theVirgin Mary, under different iconographic solutions, in the coats of arms of thebishops of Jaén, from the 13th century to the present day, making a heraldicdescription, in order to be able to interpret the pieces, figures or heraldicfurniture, which will imprint the coats of arms of a good part of the prelates,where we will discover the Marian presence, already in a speaking form, basedon a natural representation of the Virgin Mary; with the Virgin Mary's own coatof arms, or other Marian symbols associated with her figure, apart from otherpieces which, in principle, would not have any Mariological connection, butwhich, as a result of our knowledge of the particular biography of the differentbishops, we have been able to unveil.
