  • The author analyzes the quotations about some Greek heroic characters that appear throughout the works of José Ortega y Gasset. In this paper and others (in press) the author reveals the great influence that Greek literature and myth had in the formation of the Spanish essayist. It also shows the way how Ortega used both resources metaphorically, either with modellic or with ironic purposes.
