  • The present work aims to provide some reflections on the concept of linguistic creation in the vocabulary of Spanish as spoken in the Canary Islands. Through analysis of a substancial corpus of words, we hope to examine how linguistic creativity operates in regional vocabulary (if indeed one can talk in terms of creative peculiarities which are different to those of standard Spanish).
