Resumen de La rotación del personal docente: ¿Representa un indicador relevante a conocer en las instituciones educativas?

Entre los mayores desafíos de los sistemas educativos en Latinoamérica, se encuentra la necesidad de repensar el proceso educativo desde diversos aspectos que permitan superar barreras y desarrollar procesos de calidad, eficientes, eficaces y pertinentes. Para este fin, los actores institucionales son fundamentales. Tal es el caso del docente, el cual desempeña funciones de liderazgo y tiene la responsabilidad, tanto del quehacer educativo, como del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la rotación del personal docente como un indicador que afecta de manera negativa al correcto funcionamiento y organización de las instituciones educativas. Para esto, este artículo está apoyado en los postulados teóricos de Chiavenato y su teoría de la administración. Asimismo, se hace uso de los aportes de Aragay, Melo, Puedmag y Rivero en sus investigaciones sobre la rotación del personal docente, a partir de un análisis interpretativo.

One of the greatest challenges facing education systems in Latin America is the need to rethink the educational process from different aspects in order to overcome barriers and develop efficient, effective and pertinent quality processes. To this end, institutional actors are fundamental. Such is the case of teachers, who play leadership roles and are responsible for both the educational task and the teaching-learning process.
The purpose of this article is to analyze teacher turnover as an indicator that negatively affects the proper functioning and organization of educational institutions. For this purpose, this article is supported by the theoretical postulates of Chiavenato and his theory of administration. It also makes use of the contributions of Aragay, Melo, Puedmag and Rivero in their research on teacher turnover, based on an interpretative analysis.
