Resumen de Matemática em cena Um estudo com o público da peça infantil: O problemão da Banda Infinita

  Apresentamos neste artigo o estudo de recepção conduzido com o público de O problemão da Banda Infinita, espetáculo infantil sobre matemática produzido pelo Museu da Vida/Fiocruz (Brasil). O objetivo foi investigar o potencial do teatro como estratégia de divulgação científica. Para isso, analisamos fichas preenchidas por 250 estudantes de entre seis e onze anos que assistiram à peça em passeio escolar ao museu, com informações sobre sexo, idade e nível de diversão e um desenho sobre a peça. Os resultados sugerem que o espetáculo teve uma recepção positiva. De diferentes formas, eles retratam uma experiência significativa –tanto cognitiva quanto afetiva– no teatro do Museu da Vida. Isso pode contribuir para que desenvolvam uma percepção positiva da matemática (e do teatro) ao longo da vida, que era a principal intenção do espetáculo. Evidenciamos, assim, a potência da interação entre ciência e teatro como estratégia de divulgação científica e cultural.

  We present here the reception study conducted with the audience of The Problem of the Infinite Band, a children's show on mathematics produced by the Museum of Life/ Fiocruz (Brazil). The objective was to investigate the potential of theater as a strategy for science communication. We analyzed forms filled by 250 students between six and eleven years old who watched the play in the museum, with information about gender, age and level of fun and a drawing about it. The results suggest the show had a positive reception. They portray a significant experience –both cognitive and affective– in the theater of the Museum of Life. This can help the students developing a positive perception of mathematics (and theater) throughout their lives, which was the main intention of the show. We highlight the power of the interaction between science and theater as a strategy for scientific and cultural engagement.
