La investigación busca determinar el rol gerencial basado en el coaching de los directivos de educación media general de los planteles educativos del Municipio Sucre del Estado Miranda. El presente estudio fue de tipo descriptivo. Un diseño de campo no experimental, la población estuvo constituida por el personal directivo de educación media general de los planteles educativos del municipio Sucre del Estado Miranda que cuenta con veinte (20) directivos, con más de 3 años de experiencia en el área gerencial y algunos de ellos con estudios de posgrado. La técnica que se utilizó para recabar la información fue la encuesta, y el instrumento que se manejó para la recolección de datos fue el cuestionario. Se concluye con respecto a las competencias del coaching y la actuación gerencial como coach, se pudo evidenciar a través de los resultados una situación desfavorable y existen deficiencias en la implementación de estrategias gerenciales.

The general objective of the research was to determine the managerial role based on the coaching of the general secondary education directors of the educational establishments of the Sucre Municipality of the Miranda State. From a quantitative point of view, the present study was descriptive. A non-experimental field design, the population was constituted by the general secondary education directive staff of the educational establishments of the Sucre municipality of the Miranda State that has twenty (20) directors, with more than 3 years of experience in the management area and some of them with graduate studies. The technique used to collect the information was the survey, and the instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire. It is concluded regarding the competencies of coaching and managerial performance as a coach, an unfavorable situation could be evidenced through the results and there are deficiencies in the implementation of managerial strategies.
