Pastoralismo político y cristianismo marcial en “Al rey nuestro señor” de Hernando de Acuña

    Este artículo estudia el poema “Al rey nuestro señor” de Hernando de Acuña. Se parte de la hipótesis de que esta composición poética resume los aspectos más importantes de la ideología político-religiosa de la España de los Austrias: la imagen del rey-pastor y el motivo de la guerra justa, convirtiéndose en uno de los mayores exponentes del pastoralismo político y cristianismo marcial de la temprana modernidad hispánica. Por consiguiente, estudio el papel del rey como guía de sus súbditos y, conjuntamente, analizo los elementos que indican un espíritu de cruzada. Para llevara cabo mi objetivo, esta investigación está dividida en dos partes. En la primera parte aludo a la definición de imperio, al papel del cristianismo en el imperio romano y su importancia en los imperios sucesores. En la segunda parte, aludo a la imagen del rey-pastor en la tradición bíblica y en la cultura imperial hispánica. Posteriormente, reflexiono sobre la polisemia del verbo griego ποιμαίνω, transliterado como poimaino, la importancia del amor de los vasallos hacia el rey, el pastoralismo político religioso, el motivo de la guerra justa y el papel de la victoria.

    This paper studies the poem “Al rey nuestroseñor” written by Hernando de Acuña.Its starting point is the hypothesis that thispoetic composition summarizes the mainaspects of the political-religious ideologyof Spain under the Habsburg: the imagesof the shepherd king and the motif of thejust war, becoming one of the most importantexponents of the political pastoralismand the martial Christianity of theHispanic Early Modern period. Therefore,I study the role of the king as a guide to hissubjects and, in conjunction, I analyze theelements that indicate a spirit of crusade.To carry out my purpose, this research isdivided into three parts. In the first part Iallude to the definition of empire, the roleof Christianity in the Roman Empire andits importance in the empires that successiveempires. In the second part, I allude tothe image of the shepherd king in the biblicaltradition and in the Imperial Culture ofSpain. Consequently, I reflect on the polysemyof the Greek verb ποιμαίνω, transliteratedas poimaino, the importance of thelove of the subjects towards their king, thepolitical-religious pastoralism, the motif ofthe just war and the role of victory.
