Resumen de La traduction des Moralia in Iob: un "nouveau" fragment à côté des deux témoins connus

La traduzione dei Moralia in Iob di Gregorio Magno è trasmessa da un testimone poco noto (New Haven, Yale University, Beinecke Library, 1152), copiato alla fine del XIV sec., che offre il testo completo, ma rimaneggiato, dei libri I-V, e dal meglio conosciuto Paris, BnF, fr. 24764 (XIII sec.). Quest’ultimo, l’unico edito, presenta una serie di estratti del testo, quasi tutti dai libri I-V con l’aggiunta di due passaggi dal libro XXXIII. La comparsa di un nuovo frammento (Bruxelles, Bibliothèque Royale de Belgique, IV. 824) permette di esaminare i rapporti tra i manoscritti e di riprendere la questione della lunghezza originaria della traduzione. Si dà infine il testo del frammento di Bruxelles, collazionato con i testimoni di Parigi e New Haven, accompagnato dalla trascrizione di quest’ultimo per i passi interessati.

The translation of Gregory the Great’s Moralia in Iob (12th cent.) is transmitted by a fairly unstudied manuscript (New Haven, Yale University, Beinecke Library, MS 1152), written at the end of the 14th cent., which gives a complete text of books I-V, reviewed in the language. Another manuscript (Paris, BnF, fr. 24764: 13th cent.), edited in 19th cent., gives a series of excerpta, most of them from books I-V, with rare passages from book XXXIII. A newly-discovered fragment (Bruxelles, Bibliothèque Royale de Belgique, IV. 824) offers the opportunity to examine the relationships between the three manuscripts and the problems of the extension of the primary translation. The article provides the transcription of the Brussels fragment and the corresponding passages in New Haven MS.
