    Se trata de forma muy sucinta de estudiar la evolución de la monarquía visigoda, el poder de los Reyes en sus diferentes etapas históricas, su proceso electivo, selectivo o violento, y el papel determinante que adquiere en la consolidación de ese poder a raíz del III Concilio de Toledo al que se le otorga un origen divino, ungido por la Iglesia católica.

    La lucha de una buena parte de los monarcas por hacer de la monarquía un sistema hereditario, y la fuerza de los guerreros – en un primer momento – y luego el de la nobleza y el clero por tratar de impedirlo, en una lucha contante entre ambos.

    Se habla también de las condiciones que debe reunir el Rey y la simbología que le rodea a partir de Leovigildo, pero muy particularmente a partir de la conversión de Recaredo, para concluir, por último con una breve reseña respecto de las principales reinas y el papel que representaron en un modelo tan complejo y con tanto sobresalto como el de la Monarquía visigoda.

    We study in a very succinct way the evolution of the Visigothic monarchy, the power of the kings in the different historical periods, their elective, selective or violent process to reach the throne.We also study the determining role acquired by the kings in the consolidation of power according to the Third Council of Toledo that stablish the divine power of the kings by the unction provided by the Catholic Church.

    We contemplate the struggle of many monarchs to make the monarchy a hereditary system and the opposition of the warriors at first and then that of the nobility and the clergy trying to prevent it in a fierce battle between the two.

    We also speaks of the conditions that the King must have and the symbolism that surrounds the monarch from Leovigildo, but very particularly from the conversion of Recaredo. To finally conclude by a brief review of the main queens and the role played by them in a monarchy as complex and as shocking as the Visigothic.
