    “Artemisa” supone una oportunidad excelente para acercarse al tema de la maternidad desde un punto de vista problemático, alejado de la idealización que, frecuentemente, observamos en tantos textos literarios. En este artículo, trataremos de ver cómo y por qué se fragua en el cuento una visión insoportable del hecho de ser madre, así como una imagen monstruosa del hijo cuya pulsión de vida termina desgastando y debilitando el cuerpo de la mujer a través del amamantamiento forzoso. Por otro lado, reflexionaremos en torno al papel subordinado de Luisa y su interiorización tanto del poder patriarcal como del rol de objeto y no sujeto de deseo. Las principales herramientas metodológicas de nuestro trabajo se desarrollarán desde una perspectiva de género.

    “Artemisa” supposes an extraordinary opportunity to approach the theme of maternity from a problematic point of view, far from the idealization that we usually observe in so many literary texts. In this article, we are going to try to search for how and why the story constructs an unbearable vision of the fact of being mother, as well as a monstrous picture of the son whose ‘life drive’ ends up with the female body reduced and exhausted because of the obligatory breast-feeding. In the other hand, we are going to think about the Luisa’s subordinate function and her acceptance of the patriarchal power and her role as objet and not as subject of desire. The main analysis tools of our project are going to develop from a gender perspective theory.
