    La expansión comercial fenicia, iniciada a partir de finales del II milenio a.C., supuso la fundación de varias colonias por todo el Mediterráneo, y la expansión de sus residuos materiales por gran parte de Europa y África.

    En la Península Ibérica, los fenicios entraron en contacto con las poblaciones preexistentes, cuya iconografía y cultura influyeron, y dejaron marcada su presencia por vestigios arqueológicos, tales como ciudades, santuarios, cerámicas, necrópolis, pecios, u objetos metálicos. Los restos de la actividad colonial fenicia en Iberia se extiende por las costas andaluzas, levantinas y las insulares de Ibiza, siendo las dos primeras áreas en las que el presenta artículo se centra. A partir precisamente de los restos comentados, la arqueología es la disciplina que mejor puede dibujar el verdadero panorama fenicio en la Península Ibérica

    The Phoenician commercial expansion, originated on the last centuries of the Second Millennium BC, has supposed the foundation of certain colonies throughout the whole Mediterranean, and the expansion of their material remains throughout a great part of Europe and Africa. In the Iberian Peninsula, Phoenicians have got in contact with pre-existent populations, whom iconography and culture were influenced, and their presence has been marked by archaeological vestiges, such as cities, sanctuaries, pottery, necropolises, wrecks, or metallurgical objects. The vestiges of the colonial Phoenician activity in Iberia spread by the Andalusian, Levantine, and the Ibizan insular coasts, being the present article focused on the two firstly mentioned. Precisely based on the commented remains, the Archaeology is the discipline who can better draw the truly Phoenician panorama in the Iberian Peninsula.
