  • Resumen
    • Richard Weaver's well known hierarchy of arguments was developed over the course of his career, as were the justifications he offered for selecting specific arguments. His application of his system to political positions is easily misunderstood, especially his analysis of the argument appropriate for liberals. By liberal Weaver meant a “centrist,” not a “leftist.” Finally, at the end of his life Weaver may have discovered a type of argument that could transcend his system: the argument from history.
