Resumen de O imaginário gótico de um emigrante. Uma reflexão sobre a poesia de Czesław Miłosz

Reader of philosophers and of the vast tradition of world poetry, the emigrant Polish poet Czesław Miłosz seeks in his work the meaning of the representation, challenging the different forms of linguistic and existential nihilism. Calling into question western formalist tendencies, as well as romantic literary heritage, the Polish poet turns in some of his texts to the elements of Gothic convention. It is surprising to discover that it is precisely the elements of Gothic poetics, generally devalued by critical discourse, that allow to overcome the characteristic dichotomies of extraterritorial literature. If the emigrant subjectivity does not rarely re-update the elements of romantic poetics and of the Orientalism, the use of the elements of the Gothic Convention allows, on the contrary, the valorization of the experience of deterritorialization. Focused on affective short memory and the nomadism, the deterritorialization seeks to negotiate the verticality of experience and a reconfiguration of subjective space in the sense that it values the Dionysian impulse.

Leitor dos filósofos e da vasta tradição da poesia mundial, o poeta polonês emigrante Czesław Miłosz busca em sua obra o sentido da representação, desafiando as diferentes formas do niilismo linguístico e existencial. Colocando em questão as tendências ocidentais formalistas, assim como a herança literária romântica, o poeta polonês se volta em alguns de seus textos para os elementos da convenção gótica. É surpreendente descobrir que, na obra de Miłosz, são justamente os elementos da poética gótica, geralmente desvalorizada pelo discurso crítico, que permitem ultrapassar as dicotomias características da literatura extraterritorial. Se a subjetividade emigrante não raramente reatualiza os elementos da poética romântica e do orientalismo, o uso dos elementos da convenção gótica permite, pelo contrário, a valorização da experiência da desterritorialização. Voltada para a memória curta afetiva e para o nomadismo, a deterritorialização busca negociar a verticalidade da experiência e uma reconfiguração do espaço subjetivo no sentido que valorize o impulso dionisíaco.
