Can peace be achieved in Ukraine by applying International Law? To answer this question the work examines the attempts that have been implemented by international bodies to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine. The impossibility for the security council to adopt a resolution condemning Russia, given the veto of this State, the hypothesis that is proposed is that of an intervention by the General Assembly in light of the chapter VI of the Charter.
The role of international jurisdictions is then examined, in particular the sentence of ICJ and the relevance of the ICC issuing an international arrest warrant against Putin. Finally, the proposal for the establishment of an ad hoc Tribunal for the invasion of Ukraine is examined, highlighting the difficulties of implementation and its limits.
