El arte Prerrománico en Asturias ha gozado siempre de una buena atención historiográfica, gracias a su vinculación con la monarquía asturiana. En este trabajo se pone de manifiesto el uso del lenguaje estilístico, heredero del Imperio Romano, como símbolo de prestigio y como forma de reivindicar la herencia de la monarquía visigoda.

The Pre-Romanesque art in Asturias has always enjoyed a good historiographical attention, thanks to their links with the Asturian monarchy. This essay shows the use of a stylistic language, heir of the Roman Empire, as a symbol of prestige and as a way of claiming the Visigoth monarchy's heritage.
