Resumen de Vivienda decimonónica en Xalapa: una historia desde la memoria

    El presente artículo se centra en el estudio de la historia de la arquitectura habitacional decimonónica en un contexto local desde una aproximación social, a partir de las experiencias de vida cotidiana contadas en narraciones tanto escritas como verbales, que configuran a los inmuebles como un reservorio simbólico de recuerdos de la vida familiar de élite, contenedor de significados y valores que trascienden más allá de su historia material. En este sentido se estudia de manera inductiva a la vivienda decimonónica localizada en el Centro Histórico de Xalapa, cuya historia se apuntala en las dinámicas socioculturales de principios del siglo XX, estudiadas desde las narraciones de los testigos de aquella época como una síntesis de relaciones entre materialidad, interacción social y memoria, lo que finalmente otorga un andamiaje que favorece la aproximación historiográfica desde una visión social.

    This article focuses on the study of the history of nineteenth-century housing architecture in a local context from a social approach, from the experiences of daily life told from both written and verbal narratives, which configure to the buildings as a symbolic reservoir of memories of elite family life, container of meanings and values that transcend beyond their material history. In this sense, the nineteenth-century houses located in the Historic Center of Xalapa are studied inductively, its history are underpinned by the sociocultural dynamics of the early twentieth century and is studied from the narratives of the witnesses of that time as a synthesis of relationships between materiality, social interaction and memory, which finally gives a scaffolding that favors the approach to the study of its history from a social vision.
