    El retablo baldaquino en España alcanza su auge entre la segunda mitad del siglo XVII y la primera parte del XVIII, gracias al éxito alcanzado por el baldaquino de Bernini en la Basílica de San Pedro del Vaticano. Esta estructura se extiende por importantes ciudades de España, complementada con otras fuentes de inspiración, como en el caso del Retablo Barroco madrileño.

    The Spanish baldachin altarpiece was at the height of its popularity from the second half of the XVII century to the first part of the XVIII century, thanks to the success of the baldachin that Bernini created to the St Peter's Basílica in the Vatican. lmportant Spanish cities introduced this structure, which was complemented with other sources of inspiration, such is the case in the Baroque Altarpiece in Madrid
