Agenda, designed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and their fulfillment requires the participation of different sectors. Among them, the educational framework represents a relevant scenario, and particularly the subject of physical education (PE) is an ideal means to contribute to Education for Sustainable Development.
Closely connected to the different components of its educational curriculum, yoga is an emerging discipline nowadays, which allows individuals to develop physically, psychologically, and socially, and to contribute to an SDG. The aim of this paper is to expose the existing connection between the characteristics of yoga and the Secondary and High School PE curriculum, as well as the contribution of this nexus with the sustainable development. It is concluded that the implementation of the practice of yoga in PE is favorable to contribute to sustainable development. A starting point for future didactic proposals is presented, that at the same time that respond to the requirements of the PE curriculum, contribute to educate young people to form a society more aligned with the SDG
