Starting from the hypothesis that underlines the importance of the relationship, communication and interaction between the academic world and the society where it is inscribed, this research synthesizes the results of a double reading experience: professional and teaching. On one hand, we have developed a series of conferences and interviews that, as such, constitute a cultural contribution and represent an opportunity to reflect on architectural drawing in the current professional context. On the other hand, we understand the experience as an academic contribution by registering it within a certain teaching-learning process and presenting it as part of the teaching materials of a specific subject of the degree of fundamentals in architecture of the University of Alicante. Always with the architectural drawing as leitmotiv, eight houses built by eight architecture studios from Alicante are chosen. The architects, authors of the selected buildings, are interviewed following the same serie of questions that allows obtaining heterogeneous and specific information but organized in a homogeneous and generic way. The conclusions of the research (and of the comparative analysis carried out) will underline the importance of the transfer of knowledge that, bidirectionally, connects the academic and professional worlds and that, in addition, constitutes meaning and rigor in this context (closely related to the learning and the practice of the profession of architect): the cultural one.
