El texto periodístico-literario como viaje en variosplanos; viaje con estaciones y flujos en el registrohíbrido que es la crónica, género que en AméricaLatina se sostiene en una línea que parte con Darío,Martí y Rodó, y que en los albores del siglo XXIcuenta con exponentes que han hecho de loscontextos urbanos un espacio por donde indagarpara develar simulacros sociales, culturales ypolíticos, en el marco de proyectosmodernizadores que han quedado truncos yfragmentados entre discursos sobre lo quesostienen particulares “postmodernidades”latinoamericanas. La crónica es representaciónsimbólica, sensorial, ideológica. Hay una voz queenuncia, que narra, que investiga, y voces representadas como múltiples identidades “glocales”.Este texto también es un viaje por los pasajes de lacrónica, a través de autores clave elegidos por laresonancia que para estos imaginarios tienen susescritos ligados al periodismo y la literatura: losmexicanos Carlos Monsiváis, AlmaGuillermoprieto y Juan Villoro; los argentinosMartín Caparrós y Leila Guerreiro; el español Manuel Vicent y el peruano Julio VillanuevaChang.

The journalistic-literary text conceived as a journeyin different dimensions: a journey with stops andmovements in that hybrid form of register which isthe chronicle, a genre that in Latin America is sustained in a tradition that begins with Darío, Martíand Rodó and which in the early 21st century isrepresented by writers who use the urban contextas a space to unveil the social, cultural and politicalsimulations of modernizing projects which remainuncompleted and fragmented among discourses ofparticular Latin American "post-modernities". Thechronicle is a symbolic, sensorial and ideologicalrepresentation. There is a voice which states, narrates, investigates, and voices represented as multiple "glocal" identities. This text is also a journey along passages of the chronicle, through keyauthors linked to journalism and literature thathave been chosen because of the resonance theirwritings have over the "imaginario" (imagination??): the Mexicans Carlos Monsiváis, Alma Guillermo Prieto and Juan Villoro; the ArgentinesMartín Caparrós and Leila Guerrero; the SpaniardManuel Vicent; and the Peruvian Julio VillanuevaChang.
