The flood suffered by the town of Mendiolaza in 2015, located in Sierras Chicas in the province of Cordoba, Argentina, is subject to be classified as a catastrophe (Arcos González & Castro Delgado, 2015) due to the fact that it provoked not only important economical and social problems in the area, but also serious illnesses in the population. Therefore, not only the experience of such event but also the exposure to the risk of living it once again produce psychological discomfort. From this hypothesis, the proyect to which a survey was applied to a sample of individuals affected by the floods was developed. The survey included a group of factors in relation to the feeling of vulnerability and psychosocial variables (sex, age, level of education) and, in the second part of the same instrument, a short version of the Epidemiological Questionnaire on Mental Symptomatology (CESIM) was taken. From the data gathered from the group of factors, information related to the feeling of vulnerability, exposure to risk and other specific psychosocial variables was obtained. Through the CESIM, it was possible to access the frequency and distribution of the mental symptomatology of the population being studied.
