    El objetivo de este documento es analizar y cuestionar los efectos del Movimiento Educativo Abierto, el cual está promoviendo el cambio hacia una educación que contempla el desarrollo y utilización de los Recursos Educativos Abiertos (REA). Este texto invita a reflexionar sobre los efectos de estas iniciativas y nuevos movimientos a nivel internacional y nacional; una educación abierta y de calidad representa un gran reto para la mayor parte de las comunidades académicas de Latinoamérica, en donde es evidente la necesidad fomentar la innovación de la práctica docente y también es vital para poder experimentar plenamente los beneficios del Movimiento Educativo Abierto.

    The objective of this paper is to analyze and question the effects of the Open Educational Movement, which is promoting the change towards an education that contemplates the development and use of Open Educational Resources (OER). This text invites to reflect on the effects of these initiatives and new movements at international and national level; an open and quality education represents a great challenge for most of the academic communities in Latin America, where it is evident the need to promote innovation in teaching practice and it is also vital to be able to fully experience the benefits of the Open Educational Movement.
