  En el presente artículo se presentan los resultados de analizar el sentido que brinda consumir a Gorillaz, una banda musical virtual y cómo es que se construye el engagement alrededor de esta. El artículo se genera a partir de una investigación sobre la historia de la agrupación y del análisis de sus productos mediáticos, concluyendo en que una razón importante por la cual se produce este sentido es por los diferentes medios utilizados, la narrativa transmedia, y la liga de esta con las tendencias de cada etapa de la banda.

  In the next academic paper we analyze the meaning that comes with the action of consuming Gorillaz like a virtual music band and how the band generates the engagement around it. This article is based on the investigation of their history and story and on the analysis of their media products, concluding that one of the most important reasons why this gives meaning is because of the different media that is used, the transmedia storytelling, and the link of it with the tendencies of every stage of the band.
