    La finalidad de este trabajo es describir y analizar cómo influye la práctica docente en el desarrollo de la competencia lectora de alumnos de primer grado en la educación media. Esto principalmente porque, en las aulas, los docentes de la asignatura de Español realizan un trabajo de vital importancia, que va más allá de cumplir simplemente con un objetivo correspondiente a esta asignatura, el cual consiste en que el alumno experimente aprendizajes significativos en función de la lectura, desarrollando así la competencia lectora; la cual consiste en que el alumno comprenda lo que lee, y no sólo reproduzca fonéticamente las grafías; leer es comprender. Pese a que los planes y programas son los mismos que aplican estos docentes, las condiciones y la forma en que se lleva a cabo la práctica influye de manera importante en cómo se promueven el interés y como consecuencia el desarrollo de una competencia lectora, principalmente en el primer año de secundaria.

    The purpose of this work is to describe and analyze how teaching practice influences in the development of reading competence of first grade students in secondary education. This is mainly because, in the classrooms, the teachers of the subject of Spanish perform a work of vital importance, which goes beyond simply fulfilling an objective corresponding to this subject, which consists of the student experiencing significant learning in function of reading, this developing reading competence; which is that the student understands what they read, and not just play the spelling phonetically; reading is understanding. Although the plans and programs are the same as those applied by these teachers, the conditions and the way in which the practice is carried out have an important influence on how interest is promoted and as a consequence the development of a reading competence, mainly in the first grade in the secondary school.
