Resumen de La fotografía en el ámbito periodístico ecuatoriano: un estudio del diario El Universo entre 1970-1980

  El presente artículo persigue como objetivo analizar la evolución del fotoperiodismo en el Diario El Universo entre los años 1970 – 1980 a través de una explicación de sus principales colaboradores así como algunas de las temáticas abordadas. Este tema es fundamental desde un análisis histórico por sus aportes a la profesión periodística y la vigencia que tiene el tratamiento adecuado de las imágenes. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, además del análisis bibliográfico, se utiliza el análisis crítico multimodal de la fotografía para desentrañar el mensaje del fotoperiodismo y los discursos que se generan a partir de su acto comunicativo. Complementariamente se hicieron necesarios los métodos teóricos de análisis-síntesis y lógico-histórico para precisar diversos aspectos de cada una de las imágenes utilizadas. Igualmente se realizaron entrevistas abiertas a fotoperiodistas que trabajan actualmente en el Diario objeto de estudio. Con los resultados obtenidos a partir de las entrevistas y el análisis de las imágenes se pudo observar el aporte del fotoperiodismo como complemento fundamental de los medios de comunicación siendo una herramienta fundamental para la crónica social.

  The present article aims to analyze the evolution of photojournalism in the newspaper El Universo between the years 1970 - 1980 through an explanation of its main collaborators as well as some of the issues addressed. This topic is fundamental from a historical analysis for its contributions to the journalistic profession and the validity of the adequate treatment of images. From the methodological point of view, in addition to the bibliographical analysis, the multimodal critical analysis of photography is used to unravel the message of photojournalism and the discourses that are generated from its communicative act. In addition, the theoretical analysis-synthesis and logical-historical methods were necessary to specify various aspects of each of the images used. Likewise, open interviews were conducted with photojournalists who are currently working in the journal under study. With the results obtained from the interviews and the analysis of the images, it was possible to observe the contribution of photojournalism as a fundamental complement to the media, being a fundamental tool for the social chronicle
