Resumen de El diseño del mobiliario urbano: modelos universales, lecturas locales

El propósito de este trabajo es establecer que para un producto casi idéntico hay integraciones urbanas, utilidades y lecturas diferentes de parte de usuarios que están insertos en realidades diferentes.
Las prácticas de la globalización, que pueden uniformar y estandarizar diseños, podrían permitir una reducción de costos y mayor eficiencia en su producción. Sin embargo, los modelos de gran universalidad que se reproducen, generan distintas prácticas y usos, revelando la existencia de necesidades locales específicas. Esto se debe a dos causas principales: que un mismo objeto no se inserta de igual manera en contextos distintos y que algunos rasgos se distorsionan en las réplicas.
Lo anterior da lugar a cierta desconfianza en los habitantes de aquellos lugares donde los objetos son replicados y no se aprovechan en todo su potencial, lo que se refleja en bajos índices de utilidad y en un aporte modernizador indiferente al usuario.
2 Entonces para el diseño, sin desconocer su relación con avance tecnológico, no deben ignorarse los niveles de comprensión de los contextos donde se sitúan los nuevos objetos, ni las características de los individuos que los usarán.
Se llevará a cabo aquí un análisis que permita desarrollar un plano comparativo entre las formas de uso, apropiación y utilidades que se obtienen de paraderos de transporte público en Barcelona y Santiago de Chile. Se concluye que es imprescindible pensar el objeto como parte de un sistema y adecuarlo como tal a la realidad donde se traslada.

The purpose of this work is to show that for an almost identical product there are different urban integration, utilities and readings by users living in different realities.
The practices of the globalization can standardize designs, allowing a reduction of costs and more efficiency in the production of objects. However, the models of great universality that are reproduced generate different practices and uses, revealing the existence of specific local needs. This is due to two main causes: that the same object is not integrated in a same way in different contexts and that some features of the product are distorted in the replicas.
The above-mentioned gives place to certain distrust among the inhabitants of those places where the objects are replied not taking advantage in all of its potential, what is reflected in a low index of utilization and indifference of users regarding the modern contribution.
Then for design, without ignoring its relationship with technological progress, the levels of understanding of the contexts where the new objects are introduced should not be ignored neither the characteristics of the individuals that will use them.
It will be carried out here an analysis that allows developing a comparative plane about the mode of use, appropriation and usefulness that are obtained from bus stops among Barcelona and Santiago Chile. It concludes that it is essential to conceive the object as a part of a system and to adapt it as such to the reality where it is transferred.
