    El objeto de este artículo de investigación son las Audiencias, antiguas instituciones con competencias jurisdiccionales de segunda instancia. En España, estos tribunales —surgidos tras la reforma propuesta por los Reyes Católicos— representan la voluntad regia de garantizar el ejercicio de las funciones judiciales en nombre del Rey. En el Reino de Nápoles, las Audiencias se convirtieron en el instrumento de la provincialización española, al ejercer funciones de control del territorio y de disciplinamiento de las cortes de justicia baronales y regias. Tras ser circunscripción personal de Colón, las Indias sufrieron numerosos cambios institucionales durante la primera mitad del siglo XVI. En las tierras allende el océano eran organismos de gobierno y de administración de la justicia, a menudo en conflicto con la autoridad del virrey.

    The subject of this investigation is the Hearings, ancient institutions with second instance jurisdictional competences. In Spain these Courts, born after the reform desired by the Catholic kings, are an expression of the royal will to guarantee the exercise of judicial functions in the name of the Monarch. In the Kingdom of Naples, the Audiences become an instrument of Spanish provincialization, exercising functions of territorial control and regulation of the baronial and royal courts of justice. After being a personal constituency of Colombo, the Indies underwent numerous institutional changes in the first half of the 16th century. In the overseas lands, they are organs of government and administration of justice often in conflict with the authority of the viceroy
