    El trabajo pretende profundizar la vida y la obra de una figura menor del exilio republicano español en Latinoamérica, la de Baltasar Miró. El periplo migratorio de este casi desconocido intelectual se mueve entre el Santo Domingo de la dictadura de Trujillo, la Colombia de años agitados de su historia política, y Argentina, donde trágicamente termina su inquieta existencia. Del período dominicano se analizará Cartones de la frontera, una obra que encara el problema de la “dominicanización de la frontera” desde los paradigmas del discurso hispanista y antihaitiano propiciado por la dictadura de Trujillo. Se intentará en conclusión arrojar algunas luces sobre la más oscura estancia en Colombia –donde el exiliado desempeñó una intensa actividad periodística–, en las huellas de voces de intelectuales que han dejado testimonio del fugaz pasaje del escritor por el país.

    This paper cares to analyze in depth the life and work of a minor figure of the Spanish republican exile in Latin America: Baltasar Miró. The migratory journey of this almost unknown intellectual goes through the Trujillo’s dictatorship in Santo Domingo, the troubled years of Colombian political history, and Argentina, where his restless existence came to a tragic end. Concerning the Dominican period, we will analyze Cartones de la frontera, a brief essay that tells us about the thorny problem of the “Dominicanization of the frontier” with the paradigms of the Hispanic and anti-Haitian debate promoted by Trujillo’s dictatorship. Finally, we will attempt to shed light on his darkest stay in Colombia – where the exiled performed an intense journalistic activity – following the voices of all those intellectuals who have testified the short passage of the writer through the country
