    The purpose of this article is to analyze the changes that have occurred in Brazilian multiparty presidentialism and how these changes are consistent with the current crisis of democracy felt on a global scale. The data point to a strong fragmentation of the party system and to a change in the profile of representation in the National Congress. The combination of these factors, the strengthening of control institutions and the growing discredit attributed to the political class, shaped, from 2018 on, what is called here Movement Presidentialism, founded on different bases from the so-called coalition presidentialism.

    O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar as mudanças ocorridas no presidencialismo multipartidário brasileiro e como essas mudanças se coadunam com a atual crise da democracia sentida em escala global. Os dados apontam para uma forte fragmentação do sistema partidário e para uma mudança no perfil da representação no Congresso Nacional. A junção desses fatores, ao fortalecimento das instituições de controle e o crescente descredito atribuído a classe política, configuraram a partir de 2018 aquilo que se denomina aqui, Presidencialismo de Movimento, fundado em bases distintas do tão propalado presidencialismo de coalizão.
