  • Resumen
    • Based on the data from the INEGI Household Income-Expenditure Survey 2020 (ENIGH 2020), the behavior of the characteristics of dwellings and the population in relation to the electricity expenditure of households in Mexico is analyzed. A multiple linear regression model is estimated to evaluate the behavioral relationship between electricity spending and various independent variables that would have a direct relationship with the behavior of our dependent variable, including the size of the town and the quarterly household income, which were finally discarded as they were not statistically significant for the model and had a Beta of practically zero, respectively. In turn, the findings indicate that the variables are the age of the dwelling, the number of incandescent and saving light bulbs, the socioeconomic status of the household (low, medium-low and medium-high, high), use of air and heating, age and level of instruction of the head of the family those that keep a better relationship in the explanation of the model.
