    En el año 2016 publicaba el libro Cronistas de la imagen: fotógrafos en Segorbey la comarca del Palancia. En aquel repertorio biográfico de fotógrafos, queabarcaba desde finales del siglo xix hasta nuestros días, comencé a observarlos estrechos lazos existentes entre los profesionales de la ciudad turolense ylos de la segorbina. Fue entonces cuando empecé a indagar, sin mucha másprofundidad por el ámbito de geográfico de la obra, estas conexiones.Posteriormente, en 2017, y con motivo de la celebración de los cien años delCentro Aragonés en Valencia, participé en el libro conmemorativo con un artícu-lo titulado «Entre Teruel y Valencia, Segorbe: fotógrafos en ida y vuelta (o vice-versa)». En ese momento comprobé lo poco, por no decir nada, que se habíanestudiado los fotógrafos turolenses y cuánto había de desconocimiento sobresus vidas y sus obras.Esta comunicación pretende revelar la historia de estos expertos de la imagenque hicieron de la pasión un trabajo en Teruel capital. Es, considerando la fo-tografía como fuente del conocimiento histórico, imprescindible comenzar pordonde todo había empezado, el desarrollo de una fotohistoria, la historia mis-ma de los fotógrafos, algo que no se ha hecho todavía. Nada más útil para lafotografía, por tanto, para reflexionar sobre nuestro pasado, sobre los cambiossociales y culturales ocurridos en nuestra sociedad. Las imágenes fotográficasofrecen un testimonio del pasado próximo. Y en esa contextualización tienemucho que ver su autor, el fotógrafo. Su conocimiento ayuda a concretar eseespacio temporal del cuándo se hicieron.

    In 2016 I published the book Cronistas de la imagen: fotógrafos en Segorbe yla comarca del Palancia. In that biographical repertoire of photographers, whichspanned from the end of the 19 th century to the present day, I began to observethe close ties existing between professionals from the city of Teruel and thosefrom Segorbe. It was then when I began to investigate, without much more dep-th due to the geographical scope of the work, these connections.Later, in 2017, and on the occasion of the centennial celebration of the Ara-gonese Center in Valencia, I participated in the commemorative book with anarticle entitled “Entre Teruel y Valencia, Segorbe: fotógrafos en ida y vuelta (oviceversa)”. At that time I saw how little, to say the least, the photographers fromTeruel had been studied and how much ignorance there was about their livesand works.This communication aims to reveal the story of these image experts who madepassion a job in Teruel capital. Considering photography as a source of historicalknowledge, it is essential to start where everything had started, the developmentof a photohistory, the very history of photographers, something that has notbeen done yet. Nothing would be more useful for photography, therefore, in or-der to reflect on our past, on the social and cultural changes that have occurredin our society. The photographic images offer a testimony of the near past. Andin that contextualization its author, the photographer, has a lot to do. His knowl-edge helps to specify that temporal space of when those photos were taken.
