    En estas páginas me propongo ofrecer una visión sintética de la antropología bíblica según la triple acepción del verbo latino colere, que está a la raíz de la noción de cultura. En efecto, la Sagrada Escritura nos presenta al hombre como alguien que está llamado a dar culto a Dios, a cultivarse a sí mismo (en su dimensión personal y en su dimensión social), y a cultivar la tierra. Todo ello muestra la grandeza y dignidad de los seres humanos en cuanto participan de un modo particular del poder creador y providente de Dios.

    In this paper I offer a synthetic outlook of the biblical anthropology according to the threefold meaning of the Latin term colere, which is atthe root of our notion of culture. In fact, the Holy Scripture presents humanbeing as called to worship God, to cultivate him/herself (in his/her personaland social dimension), and to cultivate the earth. This shows the greatnessand dignity of humankind, as it participates in a special way in the creativeand provident power of God.
