The purpose of this paper is to explore fleet and berth model choices for improving the Saudi ecosystem. Fleet and berth model selection is a way to optimize fleet size and composition to meet the needs of transportation services in a particular region. This model is based on the principle of minimizing the total cost of transportation services for a specified number of offers, berths and other restrictions. The fleet and berth model selection has been used to optimize fleet operations in other parts of the world and could also be used to improve the Saudi ecosystem. This article describes the model selection process, the scientific and mathematical equations used in the model, data collected from previous studies, and the scientific references used to support the results.
