    With an essayistic character, this text aims to bring into vogue some points related to Mathematical Investigation in Mathematics Education, which are often approached under the same theoretical discourse, and to suggest counterpoints to them. In particular, the points at issue are: i) the understanding of Mathematical Investigation based on the verb to investigate; ii) the characteristic of opening the Mathematical Investigation tasks; iii) the divergence of the activity of Mathematical Investigation as a distinguishable characteristic of Problem Solving; iv) the approximation of Mathematical Investigation with the activity of the scientist mathematician and v) the possible contexts for the realization of Mathematical Investigation. The presented counterpoints emerge from a thinking that, articulated and expressed, can give rise to the confrontation of ideas and be an invitation to reflect on the peremptory character of these discourses.

    Com caráter ensaístico, este texto tem o objetivo de colocar em voga, alguns pontos relativos à Investigação Matemática na Educação Matemática, que são frequentemente abordados sob o mesmo discurso teórico e, para eles, aventar contrapontos. Nomeadamente, os pontos em pauta são: i) a compreensão da Investigação Matemática assentada no verbo investigar; ii) a característica de abertura das tarefas de Investigação Matemática; iii) a divergência da atividade de Investigação Matemática como característica distinguível da Resolução de Problemas; iv) a aproximação da Investigação Matemática com a atividade do matemático cientista e v) os contextos possíveis para a efetivação da Investigação Matemática. Os contrapontos apresentados, emergem de um pensar que, articulado e expresso, pode ensejar o confronto de ideias e ser um convite para refletir sobre o caráter peremptório desses discursos.
