    El contenido del presente artículo da a conocer la creación de una técnica pictórica e investigativa bautizada como “lijografía”, la cual, a través de una metodología determinada y utilizando un tipo de soporte no convencional como es la lija, permite obtener el pigmento de algunos objetos públicos de la ciudad de Santiago. A través de la descripción de los procedimientos de la técnica, se detallarán algunas categorías apriorísticas y emergentes que se han identificado a lo largo de su desarrollo, revelando, en el caso de las primeras, el “modus operandi” hasta antes de lijar el objeto a intervenir; y en lo referente a las segundas, las situaciones que van surgiendo durante la investigación y que podrían detener transitoriamente la acción en algún momento determinado. A su vez, se detallarán las consecuencias que se manifestaron luego que el confinamiento provocado por la pandemia de coronavirus no permitiera movilizarse libremente por las calles, sugiriendo cambiar temporalmente la manera de proceder.

    Tal investigación, que sigue activa al día de hoy, reflexiona sobre la posibilidad de descubrir y ampliar la historia de un objeto público mediante la creación de imaginarios por parte del espectador, permitiendo establecer y desarrollar un relato que se extienda por sobre las descripciones tradicionales del objeto intervenido, dando paso a una apertura de nuevos contextos dialógicos que establecen una relación entre acción lijográfica, mobiliario urbano, espacio público y transeúnte.

    The content of this article discloses the creation of a pictorial and investigative technique called "lijography", which, through a certain methodology and using a type of non-conventional support such as sandpaper, allows to obtain the pigment of some public objects of the city of Santiago. Through the description of the procedures of the technique, some a priori and emerging categories that have been identified throughout its development will be detailed, revealing, in the case of the former, the "modus operandi" even before sanding the object. to intervene; and with regard to the second, the situations that arise during the investigation and that could temporarily stop the action at any given moment. At the same time, the consequences that manifested themselves after the confinement caused by the Coronavirus pandemic did not allow people to move freely through the streets, suggesting a temporary change in the way of proceeding.

    Such research, which is still active today, reflects on the possibility of discovering and expanding the history of a public object through the creation of imaginaries by the viewer, allowing the establishment and development of a story that extends beyond the traditional descriptions of the object. intervened object, giving way to an opening of new dialogical contexts that establish a relationship between lijographic action, urban furniture, public space and passerby.
