    La mujer ha tenido un papel muy importante desde el inicio del desarrollo de la Climatología como disciplina científica a principios de la década de los años setenta del pasado siglo. Así se pone de manifiesto por su participación en las reuniones científicas que culminaron con la formación del Grupo de Climatología dentro de la Asociación Española de Geografía y más tarde con la constitución de la Asociación Española de Climatología (AEC). De las nueve reuniones del Grupo de Climatología de la AGE, sólo en cuatro han intervenido mujeres y no de manera exclusiva. A partir de la constitución de la AEC, la mujer siempre ha tenido un papel protagonista en las diferentes juntas directivas. De los doce congresos organizados por la AEC, en la mitad han intervenido mujeres junto con investigadores masculinos, algunas de ellas procedentes del campo de la Física.

    Se han contabilizado veintiún Grupos de investigación dedicados a temas climáticos, sólo en cuatro el IP es femenino, en el resto las mujeres forman parte del equipo de investigación cuyo IP es hombre.

    En cuanto a las líneas de investigación la mujer ha participado en climatología regional, clima urbano, variabilidad climática, cambio climático y riesgos y en climatología aplicada.

    Women have had a very important role since the beginning of the development of Climatology as a scientific discipline in the early seventies of the last century. This is evidenced by his participation in the scientific meetings that culminated in the formation of the Climatology Group within the Spanish Association of Geography and later with the constitution of the Spanish Association of Climatology (AEC). Of the nine meetings of the Climatology Group of the AGE, only four have involved women and not exclusively. Since the constitution of the ACS, women have always had a leading role in the different boards of directors. Of the twelve congresses organized by the ACS, half have involved women along with male researchers, some of them from the field of Physics.

    Of the twenty-one research groups dedicated to climate issues, only in four the PI is female, in the rest the women are part of the research team whose PI is male.

    In terms of lines of research, women have participated in regional climatology, urban climate, climate variability, climate change and risks and in applied climatology.
