The Financial Mathematicsconceived for education suffered several impacts throughout the last years. The first perspective, initiated in the years 1990, approached the development of teaching techniques and promoted reflections on the curriculum. After that, theFinancial Mathematics followed an approachmore applied topayments and investments. Tasks as the calculation of the income tax and the value of the parcels in a financing had, since then, its relevance detached in several studies.More recently, supported bydiverse researches andmore critical conceptions coming from the Mathematical Education, the School Financial Education (SFE) acquired new perspectives, distinct from those regarding the calculation of interests. Themesrelated to the decision taking on the consumption and the saving are today included in several studies of the areaand, gradually, they are being inserted in the Mathematicslessons. However, another perspective, transdisciplinaryand directed to the formation of conscientious citizens, can offer other contributions to the Mathematical Education, resignifyingthe proper SFE. More than answeringthe headingquestion, this article intends to present these perspectives found inthe literature and to understand whichcontributions each one of them can offer to the formation of the citizen in a consumeristand algorithmized world.
