    RESUMEN La interculturalidad en Perú está asociada a la diversidad cultural, este hecho redefine el rol del Estado, quien la incluye de manera transversal en toda su gestión. Las universidades públicas han adaptado sus políticas a las necesidades de la sociedad contemporánea. Los objetivos del estudio fueron: analizar las aproximaciones teóricas de las políticas públicas con enfoque intercultural en las universidades del Perú; asimismo, describir las características de las políticas públicas con enfoque intercultural en el contexto global, latinoamericano y nacional. La metodología utilizada estuvo integrada por las fases: descriptiva, interpretativa, de construcción teórica y publicación. Los resultados indican que las políticas públicas con enfoque intercultural en las universidades peruanas están en etapa embrionaria, donde las teorías predominantes son: la teoría burocrática, la teoría de la gestión pública, la teoría institucionalista y la teoría del funcionalismo. A nivel internacional el enfoque intercultural se orienta a la internacionalización y a la movilidad estudiantil, mientras que, a nivel nacional a la inclusión de poblaciones vulnerables, andinas y amazónicas; el enfoque intercultural brinda a las universidades públicas peruanas rasgos humanistas de apertura al diálogo intercultural mediante una política pública inclusiva.

    ABSTRACT Interculturality in Peru is associated with cultural diversity, this fact redefines the role of the state including interculturality in a transversal way throughout its management. Public universities have adapted their policies to the needs of contemporary societies. The objectives of the study were the following: To analyze the theoretical approaches of public policies with an intercultural approach in the universities of Peru, and describe the characteristics of public policies with an intercultural approach in the global, Latin American and national context. The methodology used started from the preparatory, descriptive, interpretive, theoretical construction phase and finally the publication. Research advances indicate that public policies with an intercultural approach in Peruvian universities are in an embryonic stage, with bureaucratic theory, public management theory, institutionalist theory, and functionalism theory being the predominant theories. At the international level, the intercultural approach is oriented towards internationalization and student mobility, while at the national level they are oriented towards the inclusion of vulnerable, Andean and Amazonian populations, which is why the intercultural approach gives Peruvian public universities humanist features. openness to intercultural dialogue through an inclusive public policy.
