Resumen de A poética do horror e o invisível do retrato

In discussing the characteristics of the poetics of the portrait, the article aims at the theorization of the emotions that participate in the reception of the aesthetics of horror. Inscribed in the regime of negativity free of any melancholic ambivalence, the aesthetics of horror replaces the mirror with the portrait. Affirming its anti-classical character within the Gothic convention, the portrait corroborates the neo-Gothic, Surrealist and Neo-Surrealist poetics. In the portrait by Émile Verhaeren, André Breton and Anne Sexton the gaze that occupies the prominent place, pointing out the disturbing relationship between the image, the absence and the death. Corresponding to the theory of the surrealist object, the horror refers to the limit of feeling and thinking, that is, to the unspeakable.

Ao discutir as características da poética do retrato, o artigo visa à teorização das emoções que participam da recepção da estética do horror. Inscrevendo-se no regime da negatividade livre da ambivalência melancólica, a estética do horror substitui o espelho pelo retrato. Afirmando seu caráter anticlássico na convenção gótica, o retrato corrobora os elementos da poética neogótica, surrealista e neossurrealista. No retrato representado por Émile Verhaeren, André Breton e Anne Sexton é o olhar que ocupa o lugar proeminente, assinalando a perturbadora relação entre a imagem, a ausência da pessoa e a presentificação da morte. Em consonância com a teoria do objeto surrealista, a poética do horror remete ao limite do sentir e do pensar, ou seja, ao indizível.
