    El presente artículo se centra en el papel de las mujeres como protagonistas de la construcción de la ciudadanía en los últimos años del franquismo y los inicios de la democracia. Para ello se ha tomado como marco geográfico la provincia de Jaén. Su cometido tradicional asegurando la supervivencia de su familia les hizo luchar por el trabajo de sus maridos, denunciar y reclamar plazas escolares para sus hijos, médicos y en general mejores servicios, destacando su función como grupo de forma aislada, pero también su labor en barrios y asociaciones vecinales. Así, se prestará atención a aquellos grupos de mujeres que menos interés ha recibido historiográficamente, pese a su destacado papel en el desarrollo de una movilización bien espontánea u organizada dentro de diferentes movimientos sociales.

    This article focuses on highlighting the role of women as protagonists in the development of citizenship in the last years of the Franco regime and the beginnings of democracy, taking the province of Jaén as a geographical framework. Their traditional role in ensuring the survival of their family led them to fight for their husbands’ work and demand and fight for school places for their children, medical care and better services in general. It highlights their role as a group in isolation and also their work within neighbourhoods and neighbourhood associations. Thus, attention will be paid to those groups of women that have received less attention historically, despite their prominent role in the development of mobilisation, whether highly spontaneous or organised, within different social movements.
