    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la relación entre participación ciudadana y presupuesto participativo en la parroquia rural de Anconcito, años 2022. El tipo de investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo, ya que parte de un análisis de confiabilidad del instrumento aplicado para levantar información, luego se presentará un análisis descriptivo de la situación actual del contexto de investigación basado en las variables de estudio, y finalmente un análisis deductivo de hipótesis. Esta última referencia, hace énfasis en la aplicación de un alcance correlacional de la investigación, en el cual se evidencia la relación que existe entre las dos variables referidas en la investigación. La población estuvo conformada por una muestra de 377 habitantes de la parroquia Anconcito. La técnica empleada para recolectar la información fue la encuesta, como instrumentos se utilizó el cuestionario con escala de Likert de 18 ítems el cual fue validado a través de juicios de expertos y determinado su confiablidad por Alpha de Cronbach. Se empleó la prueba de Rho Spearman para la contrastar las hipótesis.

    Según los hallazgos encontrados se llegó a la conclusión general que existe relación entre las variables participación ciudadana y presupuesto participativo. Los resultados muestran un coeficiente de correlación moderada de Rho de Spearman = 0.726 y p = 0.007<0.01, entre las variables, lo cual muestra que a mayor participación ciudadana mejor se desarrollan los procesos del presupuesto participativo. Se asegura que existe una concordancia positiva y significativa entre la participación ciudadana y presupuesto participativo.

    Citizen participation and participatory budgeting are fundamental pillars of a solid democracy. By involving citizens in decision-making and resource allocation, transparency, inclusion, and accountability are promoted. This generates greater civic commitment, strengthens trust in institutions, and makes it possible to meet the real needs of the community in an equitable and effective manner. The objective of this research is to verify the relationship that exists between the variables of citizen participation and participatory budgeting, in order to formulate strategies that help to integrate citizen mechanisms that efficiently involve the community in the various public allocations of resources. The research was quantitative in nature with a correlational scope. Based on this approach, the hypothesis test that was applied was Spearman's, since it is adapted from the non-normality of the source data, since they result from a Likert scale. Among the main ones, a direct relationship between the variables was observed, therefore promoting citizen participation through strategies that involve the inhabitants of the parish will contribute to promoting efficient allocations in the participatory budget processes.
