Resumen de Las relaciones sexuales en el adolescente: Un estudio comparativo entre estudiantes de preparatoria del medio rural y urbano

  Esta investigación tiene como finalidad, conocer la edad en la que los estudiantes de preparatoria, pertenecientes a dos medios diferentes: el rural y el urbano, afirman iniciar sus relaciones sexuales, así como otros aspectos relacionados a su desarrollo sexual. Asimismo, se compararon las edades de cada grupo a fin de determinar si existen entre ellos diferencias significativas.

  Este trabajo se encuentra en la línea de investigación de la orientación educativa y la información deberá ser útil a cualquier programa de educación sexual. Para recabar la información se utilizó un cuestionario elaborado para este fin. Se aplicó a un total de 292 estudiantes de preparatoria, dividido en dos subgrupos: estudiantes de preparatoria urbana y estudiantes de preparatoria rural. El cuestionario se aplicó a estudiantes seleccionados de dos escuelas preparatorias estatales, una urbana y la otra rural. Los datos obtenidos de los grupos muestran diferencias significativas entre ellos. Se encontró que los estudiantes del área rural inician sus relaciones sexuales a más temprana edad que los del área urbana y que las muchachas de este subgrupo inician sus relaciones sexuales a una edad menor que los hombres. Se encontraron además otras diferencias como las relaciones a la calidad de la comunicación entre los padres y los hijos.

  The purpose of this research was to know at what ages the students of preparatory school from rural and urban claim to have started having sexual intercourse. The ages of the two groups were compared in order to determine whether there were any significant differences.

  This research is found among the lines of educational counselling and the information obtained cold be useful to any sexual education programme. To collect the information it was used a questionnaire especially designed for this purpose. Such questionaire was answered by 292 preparatory students, divided into two group, students of urban preparatory and students of rural preparatory. The questionnaire was administered during the semester September - February 1995 to selected students from two State schools, one of them was urban the other was a rural school, to confirm the differences between groups it was used the stadistic technique of test of mean differences. The data obtained from the two groups show significant differences. It was found that students of the urban area start having sexual intercourse at earlier age than those of the urban area and that the girls of the rural area start at even earlier than the boys of the same sub-group.
