El presente trabajo se originó de la necesidad de determinar las variables que incidían en los pasantes para que éstos no presentaran su examen profesional. Se analizó la elaboración del trabajo denominado tesis como la única alternativa de titulación. El método de investigación utilizado fue el descriptivo en su modalidad retrospectiva. Se encontró que las instituciones donde laboran los pasantes no cuentan con políticas e incentivos de titulación, los programas de estudio carecían de cursos de metodología de investigación y talleres de redacción, que tanto, los asesores de tesis como el comité de revisión de tesis no satisfacían las expectativas de los tesistas y finalmente que el costo de elaboración del trabajo denominado tesis no repercutía en los pasantes.

This work derived from the need to determine the variables that had a bearing on the undergraduate students so that they refrain from stting for their final examination to achieve a degree. The making of the dissertation or thesis was analysed as the only alternative to acquire a professional degree. The research methodology used was descriptive in its retrospective modality. It was found that the instructions where the undergraduates work do not offer any incentive nor have a policy that fostters the importance of being a graduate student. In addition to that, their syllabuses do not include research methodology courses nor writing and editing worshops. It was also learnt that neither the thesis advisors nor the committee to examine those theses fulfill the expectations of the undergraduates who submitted them; and finally, that the cost of making said theses did not have to be met by the undergraduates.
