Resumen de Sexismo ambivalente en estudiantes universitarios de Antropología, Medicina e Ingeniería Química

A pesar de los esfuerzos en contra de las actitudes sexistas, éstas continúan existiendo e incrementándose en la actualidad. Según una encuesta publicada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Geografía e Informática (INEGI) y el Instituto Nacional de las Mujeres (INMUJERES), 47 de cada 100 mujeres mayores de 15 años que conviven con su pareja en el hogar, sufren algún tipo de violencia de emocional, económica, física o sexual y que la viven más las mujeres jóvenes que trabajan (INEGI, 2004). El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer si existe una relación entre el sexismo ambivalente y la elección de la profesión, el sexo y la edad de tres perfiles vocacionales de tres carreras universitarias, representativas de las ciencias sociales, biológicas y exactas. Se aplicó el Inventario de Sexismo Ambivalente (Ambivalent Sexism Inventory, ASI; de Glick y Fiske, 1996 en la versión española de Expósito, Moya y Glick, 1998) a 269 estudiantes. Los resultados mencionan que sí existe relación en cuanto al sexismo con el sexo, la edad y la carrera elegida del estudiante entrevistado.

Despite efforts against sexist attitudes, they still exist and increasing today. According to a survey published by the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics (INEGI) and the National Institute of Women (National Institute for Women), 47 of every 100 females age 15 and over living with a partner at home, suffer from some form of emotional violence, economic, physical or sexual, and that young women live longer working (INEGI, 2004). The objective of this research is to ascertain whether there is a relationship between ambivalent sexism and the choice of occupation, sex and age of three profiles three university vocational, representative of the social sciences, biological and accurate. We applied the Ambivalent Sexism Inventory (Ambivalent Sexism Inventory, ASI, Glick and Fiske, 1996 in the Spanish version of Exposito, Moya and Glick, 1998) to 269 students. The results state that there is a relation in terms of sexism to gender, age and interviewed student chosen career.
