Resumen de La escuela rural en Colombia. El caso de Sumapaz: una historia política y social (1930-1980)

La educación rural en Colombia se ha encontrado atravesada por una serie de vaivenes propios de su historia, como el proyecto de nación que se buscó consolidar a través de ella, cuyo objetivo se orientó en integrar a los denominados grupos subalternos al proyecto económico y social trazado por las elites políticas. Para el caso colombiano se encuentra un elemento adicional y es el referente al conflicto agrario, que es el telón de fondo no solo para interpretar buena parte de la configuración histórica de este territorio sino de la nación colombiana. En este sentido, es fundamental analizar como fue el proceso de gestación de la escuela en Sumapaz durante el siglo XX un periodo en el que el campesinado se organizó no solo al fragor de la lucha por la tierra sino en mejores condiciones de vida como la construcción de la escuela rural, toda vez que esta se fue convirtiendo en un elemento cohesionador del campesinado.

Rural education in Colombia has been crossed by a series of ups and downs of our national history as the nation project that was sought to consolidate through it, whose objective was to integrate the so-called subaltern groups into the economic and social project outlined by political elites. In the case of Sumapaz we find an additional element and it is the reference to the agrarian conflict, which is the backdrop not only to interpret much of the historical configuration of this territory but also of our nation. In this sense, it is essential to analyze how the process of gestation of the school in Sumapaz was during the first of the twentieth century, a period in which the peasantry was organized not only at the height of the struggle for land but in better living conditions as the construction of the rural school, since it became a cohesive element of the sumapaceño peasantry.
