  Tomás Damas fue un guitarrista cántabro del siglo XIX. Un referente en la guitarra por el uso del folclore y el flamenco en sus creaciones. De sus muchas obras, se ha escogido su Fandango variado por ser la que mejor podía servir a mis propósitos de recreación, que hago en dos versiones semejantes, pero a la postre, distintas, por ser distintos instrumentos y por lo tanto distinta tímbrica, elemento en el cual se pone gran énfasis. La obra tiene un lenguaje tonal libre con uso de técnicas extendidas, etc. La primera versión es para flauta, clarinete y cajón flamenco. La segunda versión para saxo soprano, saxo tenor y cajón flamenco, difiere mínimamente de la primera, salvo la adaptación a las diferentes tesituras de los instrumentos

  Tomás Damas was a 19th century Cantabrian guitarist. He is a reference in the guitar for the use of folklore and Flamenco in his creations. Of his many works, his varied Fandango has been chosen because it was the one that could best serve my recreation purposes, which I make in two similar versions, but ultimately different, because they are different instruments and therefore different timbre, an element on which great emphasis is placed.

  The work has a free tonal language with the use of extended techniques, etc. The first version is for Flute, Clarinet and Cajón flamenco. The second version for soprano sax, tenor sax and flamenco cajón, differs minimally from the first, except for the adaptation to the different ranges of the instruments
