En el presente ensayo se intenta describir qué sucede con el silencio que viene después de la música. Cómo se llena de significación y cómo puede ser más expresivo incluso que la música que lo antecede. A partir de esta idea se demuestra que el arte flamenco (un arte de acuerdo con José Bergamín se conforma nos sólo por el toque, el baile y el cante, sino también por el toreo) tiene una forma especial de remarcar el silencio, pues ese es su principal propósito. En este sentido se recurre a ciertas nociones del silencio en la filosofía de la india y sus equivalentes en el budismo, así como al concepto de “nada” de José Bergamín, para explicar cómo es posible que el silencio sea el continente del todo, y de qué manera consigue expresarlo el silencio inmediatamente posterior a la música. En este sentido también se analizan ciertos poemas influenciados por la copla flamenca, cuyo tema es el silencio

In this essay we try to describe what happens with the silence that comes after the music. How it is filled with meaning and how it can be more expressive even than the music that precedes it. Based on this idea, it is shown that flamenco art (an art according to José Bergamín is made up not only of playing, dancing and singing, but also of bullfighting) has a special way of emphasizing silence, since that is its main purpose. In this sense, certain notions of silence in Indian philosophy and their equivalents in Buddhism are used, as well as the concept of "nothing" by José Bergamín, to explain how it is possible for silence to be the continent of everything, and how does the silence immediately after the music express it. In this sense, certain poems influenced by the flamenco copla, whose theme is silence, are also analyzed
