    En este artículo se presenta el estado del arte o estado de la cuestión referente al estudio de los estilos de aprendizaje en algunas universidades de América Latina y España. Para ello, se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de diversos artículos científicos que proporcionan información sobre los modelos de estilos de aprendizaje, los instrumentos de medición que existen y la utilidad del estudio de los estilos de aprendizaje, relevante para comprender el tema de estudio. En la revisión realizada se encontró que los modelos más conocidos y utilizados en diversas investigaciones son: el modelo de Felder y Silverman, el modelo de Kolb y el modelo de Honey y Mumford. Por otra parte, uno de los instrumentos más utilizados en las universidades de América Latina y España es el Cuestionario de Honey-Alonso de Estilos de Aprendizaje (CHAEA) y se utiliza como diagnóstico para conocer el estilo de aprendizaje de los estudiantes lo que permite adecuar o diseñar las estrategias de enseñanza-aprendizaje en función de los estilos de aprendizaje.

    This article presents the state of the art or state of the matter regarding the study of learning styles in some universities in Latin America and Spain.For this, a bibliographic review of several scientific articles that provide information on models of learning styles, the measurement instruments that exist and the usefulness of studyng learning styles, which is relevant to understand the subject of study. In the review carried out, it was found that the most known and used models in several investigations are: the Felder and Silverman model, the Kolb model and the Honey and Mumford model. On the other hand, one of the most used instruments in the universities of Latin America and Spain is the Honey-Alonso Questionnaire on learning sytles (CHAEA) and is used as a diagnosis to know the students´ learning style, which allows them to adpat or design teaching learning strategies based on learning styles.
