Maloclusión de Clase II de Angle con resalte aumentado

    Diagnóstico: clase I esquelética con altura facial disminuida y patrón braquifacial. Desde el punto de vista dentario, es una Clase II bilateral con protrusión de incisivos superiores, resalte aumentado y líneas medias centradas. La DOD maxilar es de +0,3 mm y la DOD mandibular de -1,6 mm. En la ortopantomografía se aprecian los gérmenes de los cordales y último periodo de la dentición mixta.

    Tratamiento: tratamiento correctivo en una fase, cuyo objetivo es conseguir buena oclusión, alineando todos los dientes y recuperando la Clase I de Angle canina y molar bilateral. Además, se busca disminuir el resalte, mejorando su estética en sonrisa.

    Aparatología: en primer lugar se colocó un Herbst con anclaje extraoral, y a continuación, ortodoncia fija multibrackets en maxila y mandíbula. Bracket gemelar y tubos de Roth ranura 0,22”, bandas 16/26, barra transpalatina y forsus.

    Diagnostic: skeletal Class I with decreased facial height and brachifacial pattern. From the dental point of view, it is a bilateral Class II with protrusion of the upper incisors, increased overjet and centered midlines. The maxillary DOD is +0.3 mm and the mandibular DOD is -1.6 mm. The orthopantomography shows the germs of the wisdom teeth and last period of mixed dentition.

    Treatment: corrective treatment in one phase with the aim to achieve good occlusion, aligning all teeth and recovering Class I bilateral balanced occlusion. In addition, the overjet should be reduced, improving its aesthetics in smile.

    Orthodontic appliances: first, a Herbst with extraoral anchorage was placed, followed by fixed multibrackets orthodontics with Roth prescription 0.22” in the maxilla and mandible, bands in upper molars, a transpalatal bar and bilateral forsus.
