    Luis Valdez, padre del teatro chicano con la creación de los Actos como denuncia política y conciencia social, da un giro a su producción con Zoot Suit. En esta obra incursiona en los hechos históricos más que en las relaciones laborales asimétricas. En medio del caso Sleepy Lagoon y los disturbios angelinos pondera la figura del Pachuco; en este ensayo se rescata la participación femenina al lado de éste. Mujeres que protegieron a sus hombres como hermanos, amigos, novios o esposos, pese a ser arrestada.

    Luis Valdez, “Father of the Chicano Theater” with the creation of the “Acts” as a way of inducing social consciousness as well as political denouncement, changes his production with “Zoot Suit”. This play touches the historical facts more  than the asimmetry in the working relationships. In the middle of both “Sleepy Lagoon” case as well as the “Zoot Suit riots”, he ponder the “Pachuco” image. In this essay it is analyzed women’s participation side by side  with the Zoot Suiters. Women protected their men whether they were brothers, friends,boyfriends or husbands. Although they were arrested.
